The building and painting of all scenery for Guildhall School of Music & Drama productions, as well as the manufacturing of all the props, takes place in the School's own workshops. Students work to realise the designs of the professional set designers who create the plans and model boxes for each production. Students turn these ideas into working drawings, and develop a schedule for the construction and painting of these designs. Third year students supervise the work of teams brought together from students from all three years, so they get to experience job roles, such as Production Manager, which they may not experience again until several years into their professional careers.
