An "Everyware" world, as Adam Greenfield calls it, is a world in which computers are embedded and merged seamlessly everywhere in the environment. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags communicate their position and other information constantly in a vast network. Everyday objects become "searchable" as if they were part of the interconnected world wide web. In this interconnected internet of things, scientific management and surveillance of people and the environment we inhabit becomes possible, and marketers' ultimate dreams come true.

  • we are turning into slaves...

  • BewareOfOranges: allowing the powers-that-be to collect any and all information they wish to collect will allow them to develop and institute means & methods which are meant to manipulate, suppress, & control our beliefs and behavior. Under such conditions individual identity, creativity, and growth will be squelched. How will we evolve into our higher selves if our environments are designed to produced docile, obedient drones?

  • OMFG the narrator has a potatoe in his mouth

  • Bliderberger's...nuff said

  • @d15craxx we already are

  • bla,bla,bla...human fetish.

  • @cycimian They wont let you speed, or swerve. everything will be controlled by computers, you wont be able break speed limit, or do a left/right turn without signalling, etc... thus, there will be no accidents, thus... no need for insurance?

  • it' s actually true, most people in the world are already starving and unrest is increasing while goverments are becoming more hedious by wasting tax money, etc, etc. thus, wars, revolutions and famine will precede any such stupid society where everything is embedded with computers for no apparent reason.

  • You're in the lab rat generation! -ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

  • you can eat money, but food is better! XD

  • It would be easy enough to put RFID tags on the appliances, like washers, dryers, and microwave ovens.

  • RFID chips are nothing more than the wireless equivalent of the black magnetic strip on the back of a credit card. They don't tell you to do anything, or record anything about you. They can't track you like the GPS in cell phones. And they can't wirelessly communicate to anything, over any greater distance than a few feet. So you still have to be near a "scanner".

And the only information stored on the chip, is numbers or letters. So used mostly for shopping, or a new form of credit card.
