Spring Fever was organised by Event Management Students at The Manchester College, in conjunction with the staff of Wythenshawe Park, in order to raise awareness of the Horticultural Centre within the park.

Activities for children included a Safari Adventure Trail and a Jungle Daisy Hunt, as well as Crazy crafts and simple potting and planting activities.

For adults there were demonstrations of making a Bouquet and a Buttonhole as well as a demonstration and talk by BBC Radio Manchesters Gardening Guru Andy Hewitt on starting your own garden along with Gardeners Question Time.

The event was a great success in achieving one of its primary aims that of raising awareness of the centre over 50% of the people who visited were there for the first time! It would have continued to be a great success except that the weather turned and the outdoor activities became washed out the indoor childrens activities continued to the end.

The video footage was taken by an unaccompanied wheelchair user which accounts for some unusual video angles and the occasion possible mild expletive!

Enjoy!
