Even though I have archived my work as a Music Editor for Latin NY Magazine, Reporter for WFSB TV/Station Manager for Telemundo KCJT, Record Producer for Blue Lunch/Alpha Records and Off Broadway production of "Spic Chic", I was missing Broadcasts from my first TV Producers job.
But thanks to my friend Artist Emanuel Enriquez, I have finally gotten my hands on one such example from the first of three seasons producing ARTBEAT - aired on WBGU TV 1982-85. The show continued to run into 2000 with various producers after I left on my 25 year stint at various broadcast stations throughout the United States.
I owe a debt of gratitude to Mr Salsa Izzy Sanabria for having influenced me to pursue a careeer in broadcasting. The multimedia segment being shown here is a direct result of the lessons I learned while working for him at Latin NY magazine in the seventies. It is also the reason why I returned to be part of his staff at salsamagazine in 2011 to give back to the master.
Artbeat first aired June 1983 on WBGU TV
Featuring Emanuel Enriquez, Pianist Michael Kasickes, Poet Marisela Viega and Poet June Sylvester

Espiritu Salsa (1975-1979 WAMH FM Massachusetts) and ARTBEAT (1982-2000) WBGU TV Bowling Green, Ohio being relaunched on WBGU FM BG, OHIO January 2012. The weekly Sunday Night two hour radio program will be substituting for the "Every Where But Here World Music Show" currently hosted by David Sears.
Espiritu Salsa will move to a new time slot after David Sears completes a Fulbright scholarship and resumes hosting the "Every Where But Here World Music Show" in June.
The New Espiritu Salsa show will feature Salsa-house/world music plus multicultural Arts new, original programming, excerpts from the original show run on WAMH FM and fresh interviews from artists across the world being being created by WEPAwebTV's Skype/vodburner project. http://wbgufm.com/
