Mail by Rail: Recalling the era of the travelling post office when mailbags were dropped and collected on the move from lineside apparatus. This permitted overnight delivery of first class mail from one end of the country to the other - something that isn't possible today, it would seem. Apart from car insurance quotes and 'sell your gold' adverts.
Filmed at the Nene Valley Railway; one of very few heritage lines to operate such a service and by far the most comprehensive.
