@billysscreeningroom2 Thanks Rick! I haven't even seen the ceremony itself because I couldn't get it on my television. But its not right to not show the viewing public important people who changed cinema and made a huge impact. I think that the Oscars people are missing an opportunity...there are so many of us who still want to watch old well-made movies and to be reminded of these spectacular films and film-makers. Young people need to be reminded of the history as well surely!!!

I agree. the honorary presentations should be televised! I love watching clips of old movies and seeing actors who are still living but have made a tremendous contribution to film and the directors etc!

@1966buttons Yes! Three of the four honorees were present and received a standing ovation (Jean-Luc Godard did not make the trip), but the weird thing was: they were all together, not individualized, no film clips of their work was shown (for shame!), and they were not allowed to say even a simple "Thank you!" Horrible!

I absolutely agree with you but i might add a small thing here, this guys are not only Filmmakers or Directors but they are absolute Legends in their Professions, i don't think that a piece of statute can determine their talent or body of work. No Oscar or any other awards can do that, they have made an impact over people who loves Cinema, having said that i would be the most exited one to see them in the main Ceremony.
