  • Very cool adaptation of this classic story, though interesting that, unlike almost every other adaptation, there is no emphasis on the character of Tiny Tim whatsoever.

  • theres one called the right to be happy with rupert julian but sadly is lost

  • Not that I know of.

I recently came to realize that the 1913 version featuring Sir Seymore Hicks (who later reprised this role in a 1935 sound version) is now on DVD. But don't be fooled! On the package it advertises it as being from 1926, when in fact it is a 1926 re-issue of the 1913 version.

  • Is there a version of the 1908 film out there with Tom Rickett? I'd like to see that one. i thought this was it but it looks like everyone here agrees this is the 1910 version

  • The actors used a great deal of expression to make up for the lack of sound. They were probably much more skillful than later performers, but technology fools the judgement.

  • This is one of those great silent films of the early 20th century I lurve it!!1!!!

  • Wonderful.

Thanks so much for uploading this!

  • never new this existed!still A good piece of christmas history made for many christmases ago

  • A Christmas Carol, is a 1910 film directed by J. Searle Dawley for Edison. The problem is that it runs 15 minutes, not only 10:16

  • This films was made in 1910 staring Charles Ogal (Edison was not involving in any way, shape of form). Still, a great film! Smart use of double exposure! And it's the earliest version of A Christmas Carol still known to be complete in existance. It's available on the DVD Christmas Past, featured among many forgotten silent Christmas films.
