Durham Tees Valley Airport

READ THE DESCRIPTION PLEASE!.
This is a tribute video, to my favourite airport in the world!. Durham Tess Valley (AKA Teeside Airport) or MME, is a airport in the North-East of England. It is a small airport, however 10 years or so ago, it was'nt. Now you can still fly to Spain, but there are less flights. Onur air, KLM Cityhopper, Thomas Cook, Thomsons, Ryanair and Eastern Airways and lots of Cargo planes, RAF planes, and even a Military plane operate out of the airport to different destinations. Many famous planes have landed at MME such as the Concorde, Air Force 1, and the 'Guppy' plane also. Some of the planes in this video, either landed here for maintainence, emergency landing or a show. Plenty of these vids in this vid are as old as 10 years. Not many planes land there now, as they used to, but the airport still has a place in my heart!. I like it so much because its my local airport, it was the first airport i ever went and flew out of, and also because, when i go to Middlesbrough FC, matches (Like the ones near London) me and my dad will usually fly down with Eastern Airways to London City Airport. i usually spot at Newcastle airport ( EGNT ) but i keep getting moved by security :(

is Durham Tees Valley any good for spotting :)

@avaitionnerd111 Not really good for spotting, because nowadays, you don't get many flights at DTV. But if there is a few more flights coming in over the summer period, such as Thomson's and Monarch. But if you get a good chartered flight, such as before there used to be a few Aer Lingus' and Flybe, you'd get a good spot.

Aer Lingus also fly there now! And why was air force 1 and air force 2 there?

@dskxalive Aer Lingus only operate seasonal flights. Air Force 1 and 2 where there to visit Newcastle, but as the DTV is an old World War base, it has a much longer runway, as a 747 would find it hard to land at Newcastle.

Great video! Shame there arnt many flights anymore :( I still spend days over the airport just to watch the GA or the Falcons if there isnt anything special coming in :)

I learned to fly with Teeside Aero Club from here. Great little club run by a lady called Lynne; now sadly defunct. Also the club's Piper PA28 Tomahawks that lined the hardstand apron are no more to be seen. Such a shame.

The Diocese of Middlesbrough Pilgrimage to Lourdes charter a 747 to fly from here - normally in the last week of May each year.
