Ok guys, I am quickly getting close to my computer showcase, but first I wanted to communicate problems that anyone with a desire to build a similar computer will also have. There are certain programs that won't run with more than 16 cores such as FRAPS and the power usage for my setup is more than a standard household circuit can provide.

I knew the build was going to have issues, mine always do...but I was unaware of these issues that surfaced.

Incidentially I didn't mention one other issue. I originally bought W7 Home Premium when W7 was released, well Home Premium doesn't support two physical processors! WHAT!?!?!? I had to get my hands on W7 Professional which supports dual processors. Sheesh! What next!

Enjoy!

  • what is the name of the showcase?

  • YOU GIVE BIG MONEY ON THIS SHIT OF PC

  • @willeyboy2 actually 4500 at least in srbia

  • You do realise that you can disable cores using the task manager.. -_-

  • @Evan101101 You should refresh your Computer know-how from ELRICK

take a look at his channel motherboardsorg and take a look at his VIDEO BUILDING THE BEAST.

  • @allstars190

The Xeon processor being used is nothing but a i7 980X with an extra bus to allow inter-CPU communication.

  • Couldn't you change the settings for how many cores (or threads) a program is allowed to use? (I've never had to do that, so don't take my word for it)

  • OMG YOU PIECE OF SHIT XEON PROCESSORS ARE MADE TO USE IT ON SERVER ENVIRONMENT SHIT AND NOT FOR DESKTOP USERS

  • with power: get multiple powersupplys and connect them to different rooms on different fuses.also u should consider. also what kind of ups do u use? You need at least one thats for servers not the small office ones. (apc with the ending RT). next you should messure the 12 w output of your powersupplys. rughly a dp server with full ram and no gfx takes about 330w on idle. hope that helps
