Takes me back to the day when there was a message in every other song I heard on black radio and even early low-frequency FM stations. (not junk like today)
-
this and bridges are my two favorite gsh albums
the harmonies with the tenor singer--forgot his name--are great, especially on this track
-
R.I. the P. you were not able to find in this earthly home, Gil. Rest in eternal peace.

here's the first song I ever heard from Gil, 73 or so in the summer, 13 yeas old in Echo Park, music was right back then, many thanks to Gil, I miss that stuff

I love this song... this album...this man. He was a preeminent vocalist, poet and story teller. Then when he teamed with Brian, they were magnificent!!! I am grateful to have had the opportunity to meet him and to see him perform when he was at the top of his game!
