Video montage shot on Nikon D5000 using 18-55mm, 55-200mm, and 50mm prime lenses. Color graded in Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended, edited in Final Cut Express.

  • Yes, the D5000 suffers quite a bit from the jello effect... I experimented with some camera movements, but ended up not being able to use them in the video because of it. And when I had the 55-200 on it, the jello was amplified quite a bit when zoomed towards the 200.

    As long as you keep the camera still, and be careful about how you touch the focus ring (sometimes even the slightest movement can cause jello), it works pretty well!

  • Excellent work , unsurpassed picture quality for a budget dslr, better than the 500d. Do you have problems with the so called jelly effect when moving fast the camera? I'm asking cause I'm going to buy one d5000 soon and that's the only thing that worries me.
