Heyward hit a 3-run home run on his first at bat in the majors against the Chicago Cubs off Carlos Zambrano on April 5, 2010. It traveled 446 ft. Jason Heyward became the fifth player in Braves history to hit a home run in his first Major League at bat, the first to do so since Jordan Schafer, who did it just the season before, also on Opening Day.[7]
Jason's parents, Eugene and Laura were among the fans who witnessed Heyward's first Major League home run in Turner Field.
