Lylat cruise is easier and i suggest using a medium speed character in 2/3 speed in training to get the timing. then speed it up, its more a visual thing once u c them spot to perform the autoland

the best way to do this is

Jump and push down on the control stick when u reach the correct height but immediately after the autoland is performed do a c-stick smash or a tilt.

It is possible to do aerials but its mad difficult.

tru that i think this'll be big as a counterpick stage plus this gives u a >50% chance of getting one of those stages.

You can also platform cancel with items. A great way to mess up your opponent's read on the item throw

glad I finally found someone putting videos about this.

I've found that you can use it with almost any attack but for non downward attacks you have to go from down to the direction you need. I also found Pikachu, Rob and Zelda can't do this with their Dair as you will still get the lag. Diddy and some others can also use dair coming down from platforms and will cause them to land more quickly

Also good practice is using Link and dropping the bomb on the platform above without having it explode. Gives an idea when to press, whatever.
