Second episode of season one of Level 20-Something, presented fashionably late by Tiger-Uppercut.com

(I'm aware of the lip syncing glitches during the castle scene, I'm working on a fix for it)

  • Dramatic Irony AND a Wilhelm scream. Fun.

  • @White667 More irony and a Howie scream in the next episode.

  • TUS, how do you figure out when to make these and get the people who voice this to do that exact thing at the right time?

  • @LifeUpStudios I try to get one episode done a month. For every episode, the cast and I get on Skype and we record our lines. Are you asking about voice direction or animation for the second part of your question?

  • @TigerUppercutStudios Well kinda both. It must take good animation skills to keep the lining in with the voices.

  • @LifeUpStudios Not necessarily. Each line that a character delivers is an object in Flash. I put the the character's line in the timeline and use the little wave-form graphic (and listen to the line a bunch) to determine which of 4 mouth shapes to use. Closed, Small, Open and Wince. Closed for no movement, small for the start of consonants, Open for vowels and Wince for T, D and a few others. If you mouth along with what's being said, you can use your mouth for reference in lip-syncing. :-)

  • "I'd like some pancakes" makes me think of Egoraptor's "Blanka Makes Poundcake" video. :P

  • Do you say "I'd like some pancakes" when the spinning kick starts? lol

  • @chisenone It's a guy I met at Screw Attack Gaming Convention, named Tucker, a few years ago. He comissioned a painting from me, which was I Wanna Be the Guy. Since we're pals on Facebook, I drew him dressed up as The Kid. The painting is visible at Tiger-Uppercut in the media section. I post every painting I make there.
