This is based on my opinion and my personal experience and those of some of my friends.

  • Black people are taking hair WAY to seriously. It's just hair.

  • @DayeDayeX no different than why people SHOULD take their health seriously. As trivial as hair may seem to some, African Americans hair is the most unique and used to be very important to the status the woman. Back in the day AAs began to straighten their hair in order to fit in to what Caucasians believed was beautiful. AAs were considered ugly if their hair was of it's natural texture. It's 2011 and it's about time we let go of trying to fit in and be proud of who we truly are foremost.

  • @DayeDayeX Secondly, the chemicals that make up relaxers have been proven to destroy the scalp and cause serious damage to the scalp and hair. To me, that more than enough reason to stop using it. Ultimately, I believe it's because of the history behind why we started and why many still fill the need to continue relaxing our hair that we take it so seriously. Life is to short continuing to do something that is damaging and expensive in order to maintain the status quo.

  • @DayeDayeX I've spoken to many women who told me they still can't wear their hair natural in the work place because they feel discouraged by their coworkers and employers. It's ridiculous. There's no other ethnicity in this country that has to hide there natural self in order to get a job.

  • With black hair anything is possible. We don't really need relaxers to make our hair straight. We can use a flat iron lol

  • People are ridiculous with the “It’s just hair.” OMG say that to other women-you cut their hair or change it in any way and they would probably go crazy too. OR if they just went bald instantly-women, in general, take their hair seriously. It’s a sign of feminism and beauty to have healthy, gorgeous hair.

  • @markee871 its clear you're a troll. But since you seem to be uninformed on the subject, I invite you to look up on yt black women with natural long hair or visit the longhaircare forum. Hair is always growing, that is a scientific fact. If you don't care to look that up then you shouldn't comment on things you clearly have no information on.

  • I really feel you. I always thought my hair wouldn't be manageable in its natural state because it was too thick and coarse and that held me back from going natural. It wasn't until i began to research it that i realized it was something i could do with the right knowledge of my hair.

  • @TheGr8testbeing Last I checked you don't regulate YT so I'll make whatever videos I wish just as you can. The only difference is, I won't be on your videos telling you not to make them and making negative comments. How about you go watch videos about things that interest you instead of things that don't. People like you irritate me. I don't waste my time watching things I don't like and leaving negative comments with the millions of videos on YT to choose from.

  • @DJDProductions good dnt make a video : - )

  • @TheGr8testbeing My scalp and many other people's scalps care. Also I save time now not having sweep my broken/damaged hair off the floor. Those that do care get it. Those that don't...well I don't really care.

  • who cares it just hair

    ...but your really pretty : - )

  • @Elderyoungone Sorry but you have no idea what you're talking about plus you contradicted yourself several times in your own argument. No one needs to watch your video.

  • @MyrandaLuv1 Who said anything about being pro black? What does that even have to do with wearing your hair in its natural state? Natural can look nice and put together just as people with relaxers can look a hot mess. Back in the day and even to this day, many women feel like they can't wear their hair natural because it makes their white coworkers uncomfortable. This is very much the case in many cities. Thankfully I live in Atlanta where it's now the norm to see natural hair wherever you go.

  • CHOOSING NOT TO BE ''PRO BLACK'' AND NATURAL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HATING YOURSELF...IT'S ABOUT LOOKING NICE AND PUT TOGETHER.....HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WANTING TO BE WHITE....

  • Yall just gotta watch my video on Black woman's hair....I show you in the bible why they can NOT grow long hair pass their knees.Bless you all.

  • Black mother mess their duaghters minds up when they are young and other black women around them do the same as they are growing up. They do it to each other. Om glad to see this new wave of black females trying to change that though process to where one day it will be more than norm to see black women without the weaves and perms. It can happen, you guys just have to keep doing what you are doing

  • @DJDProductions You are correct that's why my wonderful middle back length hair started to fall out because of those stupid relaxers!!!

I just cut off all of my hair it was reduced from middle back length to neck length so I cut off all my hair until it looked like it was shaved.

And within a year my head went from shaved bald to neck length, and guess what?, my hair is relaxer free!

Oh sure my black relatives want me to relax it again but I sternly tell them NO!!!

  • @Dark0Malkavian It's just unfortunate when you're too young to make the choice and your parents make it for you. It's sad when I see kids barely old enough to talk with a relaxer.

  • People need to sit down because unless your mother managed to relax your hair when you're still a fetus, we're all born natural. It's just a choice as to whether you want to stay natural or not.

  • @ragtopman242 Some never will.

  • You can't beat Mother Nature ! Live healthy, eat healthy and your natural radiance will shine through! When will everybody catch on?

  • @royalcoils100 I agree. I think we're now in the age of enlightenment. A time when people begin to wake up to the facts about what's reality and not the bs we've been sold for so long.

  • @markee871 Take your racist rants somewhere else and how about you know what the hell you're even talking about first. And by the way, it's been over two years since I stopped using relaxers and my hair is over 10 inches long now. No balding here.
