  • This crossing is now upgraded signals but still has problems going down when it isn't supposed to - and going up when it should be down lol! GREAT video!!

  • @drc930 Yes, this crossing has had some serious electrical issues for quite awhile now. There's a short somewhere in one of the crossing activation switches. It gets worse in the winter when the frost heaves start to show up. Maine DOT is always down there looking at it but I've never seen them fixing anything except maybe once. I would always to try to catch trains at this crossing because of this issue. Thanks for stopping by!

  • oh yes "the gates have ISSUES" everything is an issue nowadays.........no more problems, difficulties, breakdowns etc.............its all " issues " ah!ah!ah!

  • @papoocanada :D True. Nothing "breaks" anymore it seems. Thanks for stopping by.

  • great video...I ike the GP9 High hoods.

  • @WWBZT1 Thanks. Me too!

  • Great Job!! People don't expect a train comming because the signals are not doing their job. That can be a FATAL mistake. Nice paint job on the ol girl,

  • FRA CFR Part 234: "at crossings involving an Activation Failure and no flagger or uniformed law enforcement officer present, a train must stop and a crew member must dismount to flag highway traffic to a stop before the train occupies the crossing."

There was nearly 20 seconds between the truck and train. 20 seconds is how far in advance the signals must operate. Note the train stopping and the crew flagging the crossing. All I see is proper separation being maintained and procedure followed.

  • gotta love the sound of a classic emd 567notching up. brings back alot of memories

of the bangor and aroostook geeps working were i lived as a kid I think the

MMA is srill running an original B.A.R gp9

#79 I seen it on a freight heading south

out of Oakfield this morning with a couple

    of GE's and former B.A.R gp7#23 leading!

wish i had a camera with me!

  • Yep. All fixed now. At least until the next set of frost heaves gets it again anyway. Thanks.

  • It looks like the crossing gates have issues, they keep going up and down and evidently the crew was aware of the problem to implement a flagman. Nice Video.
