This is Teri-Towel's Fifth of Ten Commandments of Carpet Cleaning for a Clean, Safe and Healthy Home:
Do not add chemicals to the indoor environment. NO household cleaners or detergents, NO shampooing, foam cleaning, dry powder cleaning, bonnet cleaning or steam cleaning. DO NOT apply any type of carpet protecting products. These methods contain chemicals that are not entirely removed by the cleaning process.
