  • to realize responsibility is not selfish. The view is: Make a change inside yourself. To look at this principle as selfish or egocentric is misunderstanding life. Jainism is very very old and knows this conflict in understanding very well. It's answer is Anekant = Concept of relativity.

  • @VeritasTruthEmet and I dont want to go into much argument but if you look in Jain prayers and texts you will find there is ample feeling of well being of others and compassion for other beings is the supreme level of non-violence which is the core of jain philosophy .. how can then a devout jain be slefish towards his own upliftment

  • @VeritasTruthEmet You got it a little wrong dear .. the principle is not to just uplift your own soul .. the basic idea here is that, you need to enlighten yourself bfore you can enlighten others.. how can an imperfect soul tell you what is right and what is wrong ..that is the reason Mahavir observed silence for almost 12 years and then as soon as he got enlightenment, gave his first discourse and none before that ..

  • Needless to say , Jainism has still treatment of all ailment without any inherent cost !! More you go close to it , further you are compelled to know it.

  • not so much no. Take into account the fact that the only reason they wear such things to protect jiva is to achieve moksa from samsara for themselves! The ahinsa yoga here is selfish and not compassionate like mahayana! Jainas are self obsessed with their own level of jivic dravyah that they woudnt help you for any reason ever under any circumstances, action to them even good action = >karma =>drawya=>amoska=>samsara and life again.

  • one of the primary spiritual practice of Jainism followers is follow "Ahimsa" "Not to cause suffering to living organisms". Their hearts are so sensitive they dont want to hurt even microbes and small insects while talking. Beautiful isnt it...

  • What are they waring over the mouths and why?

  • nice
