This is a quick walk-around of a Lockheed Lodestar that my class will be involved in restoring for the Canadian Museum of Flight in Langley, British Columbia. A gem of a machine in it's time of serving the Canadian government and setting records with famous people including Howard Hughes. Too bad it will never fly again but should be a real treat to be able to put it back into a showroom shine. http://www.ucfv.ca/MarCom/newsroom/UCFV_Aerospace_and_Lodestar.htm
love it, up close and personal view of the structure

While Howard Hughes probably flew the Lodestar (L-18) at some point, his 1938 record-setting round-the-world flight was in a Lockheed 14 Super Electra.
The first Lodestar was a conversion of an L-14, and first flew in 1939.

I hope as good a job is done on this as on the Hampden. It's going to get kind of crowded, though, isn't it?

I'm VERY happy to see CF-TCY having some well-deserved and long overdue refurbishing. Many many times I walked by this airplane at Heritage Airpark, saddened to see it decaying at the mercy of the elements. I look forward to see it againg looking "brand new".
What are the plans for CF-TCY? Is there any chance to get in back to airworth condition...?
