@STVYT It is a quick brush of stick against the skin, a very subtle movement. Called a ghost note or grace note. Not hard to do, but hard to do artfully....phil is known for an extraordinary and very individual "feel", not just the basic patterns and techniques.

How am I hearing the snare drum when he isn't even playing it? 0:17 If you notice you hear that CHECHECHEboomboom CHE CHE before he even hits the snare drum. Is there a snare drum pedal?
