Space Shuttle Discovery launch from pad 39-A through SRB separation on 5/31/2008. Taken just south of Space View Park about 12 miles away.
Sorry about the poor quality of the video. We went out to see the launch and I only decided at the last moment to video it using a pocket camera instead of taking still photos. Also, the shuttle is completely out of frame quite a bit. Again this is my fault as the view finder wasn't clearly visible in the bright light, and also I was more than a little distracted by the GORGEOUS launch! It was the second launch I've seen "close up", and my first daytime launch.
