  • Durkin sounded like he was at an auction or something..

  • Hi zedbout. Hope you are well. Actually, the call for this race is by Marshall Cassidy, Durkin's predecessor. I agree, and listening to this again now, actually quite comical, how Cassidy was quite DRY in his call[s], especially late in his career. Thankfully, Durkin stepped in as Marshall seemed, respectfully, to lose the luster in the calls that he had had in the past. Take care.

  • A European horse wins a triple crown race and the caller sounds bored. G&G really annhililated the american colts. You would think that the caller might have noticed that history was in the making.

  • Such a monumental training feat met with one of the most uninspiring commentries I've heard!

  • thanks for this video,i hit the tri because Dave Litfan then working at the Daily News had the guts to pick a European horse--thanks Dave

  • This was indeed history being made. I'm somewhat surprised that more European trainers did not try their luck in this 1 & 1/2 mile classic? Okay, the Belmont does often clash with The Derby, but some horses would be better suited to this track than Epsom. Incidentally, I think Dave "Down The Stretch" Johnson called the race for ABC Radio.

  • Thanks for putting this video on here! I own Baron de vaux and enjoy watching this from time to time. The old guy is in perfect health and still a stallion, he looks as good as ever and acts like he would like another shot at this race LOL!

  • Mick Kinane who rode Go and Go, but more known as the jockey for Sea the Stars retired today.

  • $2,000 to the lady with the red hat, do I hear $2500? $2500! $3000, do I hear $3000? $2500... the bid stands at $2500... $2500 one time, $2500 two times... SOLD FOR $2500!

  • youre a class act cf1970 and thanks for all your videos. Great to watch during a boring day at work.

    Best regards,

    ace
