  • bankers are the engines attached to support the train right??

From where to where are they employed and what kind of locomotives are used??

Is there any reason for employing on WAM-4s??

  • @JuanManuelGrijalvo Bankers are need to push the train up the 1:63 gradient in this section. The trains are 24 coaches in length and to maintain a speed of 50KMPH in these hilly sections, bankers are attached....The front loco is 4000 HP and needs help on the gradients....

  • Pantograph down may not mean a dead loco. The electricity can be transmitted from one loco to another through the means of the connecting cables also. If you heard the second loco not running, then it can be dead, but please note that it can be a working loco in a consist with the panto down.

  • Aha... I had not realized this, the part of the line that we see in the video looks fairly level.

  • Juan, it is graded section and trains beyond a certain length need bankers on that line.

  • Slow but steady wins the race

  • Why the bankers?
