South East Queensland Flash Flooding 20 May

Local creek in Goodna, Ipswich of SE Queensland, Australia.

Normally nothing but a trickle, maybe 1/2 ft deep and 2 ft wide on a regular rain day.

Started raining as of late last night, and hasn't stopped. Still going now while I write this. My house is almost completely blocked off, as all four roads leaving here are blocked off by deep water.

The first photos are from my back verandah (the first water seen is in the back quarter of my next door neighbour's yard. Normally about 20m from the creek, now 10m into that yard is under water.

The next set of photos where you see palm trees, thats back-door neighbour's yard. Normally can't make out the slight trough which is the creek (beyond the last palm), and now the entire palm plantation section is completely under and a fair way up the palms.

The last set is the nearest road leading from my main street. A truck drove through shortly after the last video, and most of the very large tyres were under water, a car would be submerged to the windows. That street recently had an upgrade and a large water pipe was placed under the road to alleviate the water flow across the road.

Great work, Council... Paul Tully is a complete moron and doesn't know how to manage just our small suburb.

OH BURN!!!!!! I live in Grafton (Northern NSW) and they have forecasted moderate and maybe even Major flood warnings
