MORE freeware available?may i ask what freeware exactly because really for almost all programs there is in windows that you have to pay for there is a version on linux for free.(The only reason I dual boot with windows 7 is for gaming because Wine has its limits sadly)and Linux is far from being just eye candy.

If you are asking what freeware means, it basically means the software is freely distributed legally. Instead of having to pay to use it.

You can just download it and get full benefits without spending a dime. But freeware is starting to become harder to come by for windows. Usually a software starts as freeware and if it becomes popular the developer starts charging for it to maintain quality and so he/she can make money off of the demand or to keep development of the software in full swing.

I'm 38 years old, not some 15 year old who is hypnotized by shiny things. I continue to use Windows because there is actually MORE freeware available for Windows than Linux.

its not that im like ooooooooh and aaaaaaah with al the funny options u got with compiz ..

why i use linux .. is because it almost never crashes. if a app crashes .. linux keeps running ..
windows .. does not :P

but still for some things i still need windows ..

Dude Linux OWNZ. Well actually it sucks on y machine but it's my machine I know it. I've tried it on my VERY old Pentium 3 with 1 GHz and 1 Gb of Ram and 128 MHz FS and 32 Mb video card. It worked PERFECTLY there. Yet on my "new" old machine it's buggy. Not really compatible. I'll have to change systems ^^.
