Minecraft Urbanism: Utopia, Urban Augmented Reality, and the Games of Cybergeography

A talk I recently gave on the connections between Minecraft and the Utopian plans of mid-20th-century artists and architects. The first half explains some of these connections, while the second half explores the potential for games like Minecraft to fuse with the real world via augmented reality technology.

We're lucky to have someone who can contrast for us the differences and similarities between the past and our present. I've always thought that if we could zap someone from 100 to 300 years ago here today they'd be able to show us these things, low and behold there's the time traveler lol, good job.

Minecraft is still gay but yes, I play it on occasion and my son plays it. The point is, it still has my respect even though I don't particularly like it anymore.
