Thanks to Jake Bourrohs for hosting this seminar on Tanglang, Qigong, PaiDa, Qinna, Body Awarenesses, Ke Shou Kao Da and other aspects of CMA...

This clip shows some basics to Shuia & Na, throwing and siezing ideas...

The basic drills are for block and stick, open and entering, empty balance and throw and steal the reaction...

The Step-ups are very basic ideas to help students coordinate body awarenesses between people so the throw or seize can be executed...

Take a look at Jakes size compared to mine and the others in the room... Trying to throw Jake was loads of fun and challenging, if I used any core strength power Jake could recognise and nuetralize it just by his sheer size and power, and I could not throw him, so I had loads of fun and was very challenging for me to not to use core strength but still over come Jake's wieght and power by soft skills and some of the others in that room... Thanks Jake...

We had loads of fun...

The KEY is consistant training and a good teacher!!!

I hope all can enjoy objectively!

  • hey~

    the vid is awesome

ppl like to talk about trash on the internet

    they never experience anything

but they pretend to know everything

    so just ignore them

btw whom do u learn from?

i saw you practice many different styles

    pretty impressive

  • GrassM, thankyou....

  • We must all start somewhere, having students just punch each other without a foundation will just teaches bad habbits... Controlled basics and taking away the controlls slowly teach how to use your ideas ad teaches good habbits... Simplicity and Patience, but me and my students.. Maybe you like to learn without guides, then that is good for you.

  • Nice Video,I saw a lot of Wing Chun in those techinques.Alot of Centerline usage, and facing.

  • Thanks for positive feedback... Yes centerline theory extends to many styles... All styles are great, its people today that make them empty...

  • Dear young one,

Usually I get all good comments but every once in a while well. A troll comes by. This is what I hate about the internet, anyone can comment. Spice is life no problem...

What's worse is when people like myself and others are trying to better the CMA community from all the trash that is out there, you get some young kid who should be training instead of being a paper tiger and concerned with people lives they nothing about. Peace...

  • Remember I was here.Thai

  • R.I.P Mike

  • I hope you keep your postings coming.

  • I can see a lot of logic and usefell applications in his teachings.

For the street they would have to be adjusted somewhat but the principles are the same.

  • Hmmmm.

Some people dont give their opponents their limbs and some do.

I think for those that dont then a person has to train to be able to recognise when a person is going to do something.

Train to parry a fast jab.

Train to move inside a fast jab(difficult)

Train to parry and catch a fast jab

Most people have slower right back hands.

I think the video is demonstrationg techniques.

The techniques might have to be adjusted to be incorperated in to a persons ability to use them

  • Real nice 5 stars!!

  • mike, The "anyone can comment" aspect of the internet really is more good than bad. People with years of experience but no money or big commercial schools can showcase their training insights and skills, share their understanding and attract the interest of people lower on the skill ladder who can grow from the mistakes of their seniors.
