A hacker is still able to sniff out the "secure session" between the user and the server and view credentials.

Love the vid, but one piece is misleading. Not all SSL types verify the identity of the website owner. Do you really know if "Bencil's Pencils" organization really owns the website? Not with an email only validated SSL cert you don't!
ONLY Extended Validation SSL with the green URL bar (or any VeriSign SSL) validates the owner of the website AND provides encryption. Big difference here folks, which is why the browser makers created the green URL bar format in the first place :-)
