That's quite the pit-lane exit.

The really frustrating part about this video, is that he's not on 10/10ths until that last half a lap, and it cuts right at the point you really want to see, the run down Mistral to Signes.

Beautiful circuit. Thanks for this nice moment. Eddie Cheever is not among the best pilots who ever existed but, by following him on the "Paul Ricard", we can appreciate his braveness and his talent. Terrible "Signes" curve, after the "Mistral" long straight line, just before the double "Beausset" impressive right curve. It's something which belongs to the legend of F1. I agree with the last comment. The last F1 GP which took place here was in 1990. It's a long time now but I remember it.

him using the clutch is really noticeable on reducing gears on corners, you can hear the pilot releasing the clutch really smooth, awesome driving, and a lot of courage also, and man that v6 jumps on the straight line !!!
This is f1 at its purest right here. These cars were beasts. No driving aids, no hans device, fast corners, H pattern shifting. I love it!

Does anyone know what the reference is to Elio de Angelis right at the start?

Elio de Angelis died at Paul Ricard circuit, on May 15th 1986, after having heavily crashed in some private tests with the Brabham BT55. It could be a reference to that. Obviously I don't speak Japanese.
