Sweden has long had a small population and some big exportcompanies that has supported the entire country. If you get sick you get 80 % of your pay for upto 570 days from the state. After that you get 65 % for the rest of your life. As you see in comments people usually think this is way to low. Most people demand 100% for the rest of their life. They think money grow on trees. Incometax is upto 57 %, which makes you more like a slve to the socialist state.

The so-called Swedish model is about to crack wide. I hope that Hartman just dig a little deeper and realize this. The neoliberal politic is on the agenda big time.

Sick people who has lkost their healt insurance have been forced to sell off everything they own, they have been forced to go from house and home and finally ended up in the last instance, the social services office...

Wow.... 09:00 "a base wage for everybody" I just heard conservatives and libertarians heads exploding...
Though he's right, at some point automation will overtake the need for wage earners and manual labor.
You have two choices:
1. Continue a growing devide between the wealthy & middle class (while exploiting 3rd world countries)
2. Provide for basic needs (food, shelter, healthcare, etc.) and create a system (perhaps a form of capitalism) for people to benefit from innovation & expertise.

Lieutenant Dan was a high ranking member of the Pirate Party.
lol america could NEVER EVER have the same system as sweden. You would go bankrupt in just a few years. Just like the whole EU could never have the system of sweden. Sweden is VERY wealthy and had only white people untill very reacently.
And what is labeled as "conservative" and "liberal" simply doesn NOT exist in Sweden. In Sweden you have socialism vs communism.

Falkvinge forgot to mention that 45 000 people in sweden has lost their health insurance, (Sweden have the strictest rules for sickness benefits across the OECD now) and more people will loose their insurance the comming years.
Most of those who have unemployment compensation got far from 80% of previous income.
Sweden got slave jobs, (so-called Phase 3 jobs) people work for a few hundred dollars a month ... Just a small selection ... In Sweden's safety net is now big rips.
