Lyrics:

Indian Lake lyrics

You take a bus marked "Lakewood Drive"
And you keep on ridin' 'til you're out of the city.
Where the air is fine with the sweet smell of pine
And the countryside's pretty
And you'll see daffodils, peepin' over the hill
or a honey-lovin' mama bear
Just take a left at the bridge, go down to Quakertown Ridge
And in a minute you're there
di din din din din din di din din din din din
di din din din din din di din din din din din
Indian Lake is a scene you should make with your little one
Keep it in mind if you're lookin' to find
A place in the summer sun
You can swim in the cove, have a snack in the grove
or you can rent a canoe
At Indian Lake you'll be able to make the way the Indians do
Daoop bop bop daoop bop bop daoop bop bop daoop bop bop daoop bop bop
daoop bop bop daoop
bop bop daoop bop bop
Da din din di di di da din din di di di da din din di di di da din din
di di di
Indian Lake is a scene you should make with your little one
Keep it in mind if you're lookin' to find a place in the summer sun
Swim in the cove, have a snack in the grove or you can rent a canoe
At Indian Lake you'll be able to make the way the indians do
woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo
Indian Lake is a scene you should make with your little one
Keep it in mind if you're lookin' to find a place in the summer sun
Swim in the cove, have a snack in the grove or you can rent a canoe

  • The Jonas brothers wish that they could be even close to as good as this family.

  • Passed a community on Route 115 outside of Wilkes-Barre PA called "Indian Lake" on my way back from PA to NY yesterday - wouldn't you know it, the first thing that popped into my head was this song? Talk about staying power! I always wondered exactly where Indian Lake was (there are countless instances of it all over USA and Canada) - my guess is somewhere in PA. There's an Indian Lake right outside of Shanksville, PA too.

  • ooh, I wish there was a GOOD band like the cowsills again. most bands nowadays suck. (except one direction, obvi!)

  • This song brings back memories.. Not far from me is a lake called Indian Lake that my parents would take us to and when this song would play, it made me think about this Lake..

  • Memories.....San Antonio, Texas

  • stereo-i remember the mono single when was a kid WHAT A SONG and then i got the stereo album!!!

  • The Cowsills were from Newport RI and the song was Written about Indian Lake which is off Rte 2 in Narragansett RI.

  • This was my Mom's favourite song when we were camping at Lost Forest in Northern Ontario in the late 60's. The Cowsills had some great music!

  • The Cowsills had a great sound!!!

  • @BridgetR72 Loretta Lynn does a very good version of this song as well. I wouldn't try and split them, I think they are both good. Gary

  • From what I have read the song was written about a lake in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. Tony Romeo, who wrote the tune, lived in Pleasant Valley, NY, and had stated many times it was written about the NY lake where he visited as a young man. I've been there many times, it is lovely and worthy of the song!

  • @veronicanbetty69 I know that place. I grew up in the Twin Cities & my grandparents had a lake place near there.
