@uwtitanfan So then what's with the helical wire around the mast?

Duh. That's indeed the station you work at. Shows what happens when I post a comment before watching the whole video... ¬_¬

What station is this for? KGWN-TV?

Thanks. I was wondering, if you have time, if you could tell me absolutely anything and everything you did to become a cameraman for these live shots. At the moment I'm only 15, and I'm taking a creative industries class this yr and next, there's a film and tv class in 2, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go to uni. Do I need all of this? And would it help to have all that education? Also, do many people get promoted from doing live shots, to doing other shows? Thanks again.

It takes time, persistence, and patience to get into TV but news is only for those who can hack it though. Lots of long days and weird hours and other unpleasant variables to deal with, such as being around people who don't want you around. But on the flip side, you get to see things and go places that most others wouldn't be allowed to. As for education, don't sell your self out. Get your 4yr degree.
A good place to start - give mediacom a call and ask if they have internships.

So, which part of that mast receives signals from the station and which part sends signals back to it?

@denelson83 The dish at the very top sends and the saucer shaped thing below and in front of it receives from the station
