The real thought behind the song is its sort of poking at the Pharisees. Of course, its basically ILL M I, and you, Illuminati shining through you. Illuminati, people are confused by what that means, but one of the dictionary definitions is 'a person or persons claiming superior spiritual enlightenment.' So, that to me is a Pharisee anyone who claims to be an all-knowing spiritual person. So, it's sort of saying, "Ill am I. I'm all ill down here, and you, Illuminati, shining through.

An example of this is in the movie "Pleasantville" where everyone starts pointing fingers at eachother as conspirators but it turns out, everyone is in on it, even the judge. So as obvious as it may seem, Pop culture, the government, and other devices may not be specifically responsible, but the illuminati is perhaps something more enigmatic
