Title: Just Around the Riverbend ("Disney's Pocahontas"), 2011
Music/Lyrics: Alan Menken/Stephen Schwartz
Arr: New orchestration for Female trio (Tracie Franklin, Chelsea Picken, Katherine Wright) & orchestra

I really, really hated this song after I picked it. It's just... sooo happy, lol. But, it was probably the best group/orchestra performance of the night and things really came together :) It's similar to the original but with a Broadway twist. A lot of the counter melodies and colors I added with a live performance in mind. The strings have less "sweeping" and more graceful lilting similar to the woodwinds. I love the brass section (french horns, especially) with their powerful sound in the middle. But what took me over the edge was the harmonies at the end: my ladies did soooo good. I extended some lyrics for added effect and I worked very well. I almost forgot to bring the orchestra in when we did it 'cuz I was sooo enchanted. Girls, you made this the favorite of the night :)
