The (haunted) Stoneleigh Hotel - Dallas TX

Sometime around October 2006 - on one particular night, after a good bit of drinking in the Stoneleigh Hotel bar in Dallas with a group of friends ... we decided the go explore the Penthouse and rooftop of the Stoneleigh hotel.

Known for being haunted, secret passageways, trapdoors, mysterious rooms and sliding mirrors, The Stoneleigh Hotel has many stories to tell - just ask Sonny, the bartender.

This video was taped that night. Shortly afterward, the hotel was closed for renovations. It'll never be the same.

The song at the end is "Horror Hotel" by the Misfits.

UPDATE 3/09/08: A friend of mine in Dallas just informed me that the Stoneleigh Hotel has reopened. The decor may be new - but dead people still roam the hotel ... and will forever.

That was a great night! A REAL ghostly episode didn't get caught on tape tho. 2 of our group were stuck in a room used for Xmas storage when the trees started shaking. They thought we were playing a trick on them,but we were on the other side calling their names. Jess & Herb tried 2 get the door open but it wouldn't budge. They finally got out. When I heard the story, I grabbed Herb's hand & dragged him in there with me, eagerly awaiting my own ghostly experience--NOTHING. I was so disappointed!

all true. but after watching it several times, I still can't figure out who is in the shot at 3:16 (not a biblical reference btw). Next time you see Marc, ask him who is in that shot ....

It has. I stayed there again last year and went back out on the roof. Lots of spirits in the hallways. I think they're pissed that Sonny didn't get rehired after the restoration. But I do know where Sonny is bartending now if you want to hear his stories.

I've recently stayed at the Stoneleigh again. The remodel is mostly complete and the secret doors & passageways have been closed up (yes, I went up into the Penthouse again) but it's not the same. But that doesn't mean that dead people don't roam the hallways at night.

my ex used to work there... he was a bartender and he said it was haunted. he had wine glasses falling from the racks and employees would see a ghost in the penthouse which used to be the owners penthouse way back when it was first built. there is actually a secret way leading from the penthouse down to a room on the second floor.. it was for his mistress' room. the secret passage has since been blocked off and they completely remodeled the hotel so i dont know how it is now!

Definately bullshit. This creepy old place probably is haunted, but that ghost is definately from another clip. What a lame ass waste of time

I have actually stayed at the Stoneleigh. At about 1am the fire alarm in the room next to us started going off. We called down to the front desk, we were standing in the hallway when we heard the elevator doors open, as soon as they opened the alarm went off. The guard looked very nervous as he was opening the door. He checked the room then quickly came back into the hallway. I asked him what was wrong and he said the alarm goes off almost every night, but when checked its never on. Scary!
