What a devastating day. Makes me cry. I switch between my granparents houses since my mom died and they both live in River Plantation. So did we. My grandpa's didn't get flooded but almost. I had to be woke up that day with my friend sleeping over only to be told my grandma was up to her knees in water. I could hear things falling in the background while I talked to her on her cell phone. When she was out it was up to her neck. I lost one of my dogs. I will never forget this horrific day. 5/3/10

I live at 1118. My poor cats were upstairs until the next afternoon. at that time, I was racing around Harpeth Bend/Beech Bend area trying to find a boat to rescue my daughter from her roof. thanks for capturing this.

I hope you're well and you didn't suffer too much damage, jennb116. I'm one of your neighbors. I live over on Old Harding Road (near the river, but the flood water didn't reach my house).

I have no words....... :(

How sad. I used to live on Gen Geo Patton and took out Federal flood insurance even though it was not required according to the official flooding zones etc. (why wasn't it required is all I wonder?!). All my then-neighbors said I was nuts... When I sold the place the woman who bought it was furious as her bank required her to also carry it. People were not poor, but I remember strong resistance to buying insurance - it is a very sad and sobering lesson ...

Have Questions? Need Answers? - visit public service org website at NashvilleFlood - kind of like Yahoo Answers. Public Service for Nashville / Middle Tennessee for those who have questions / answers about the flood. Also has a video blog segmented by geographic regions of Middle Tennessee.
Pretty much everything on the west side (Harpeth River side) of Sawyer Brown Rd was flooded...from the Sec. 1 (behind the Walgreens) all the way up to Sec 10.
