Whats going to keep you working as a gospel musician is the ability to sound Gospel. I apologize for any disrespect I may have shown in prior post. If your on the traditional path don't give it up. Courses like this and others aren't meant to replace tradition teaching. They should complement it. Use your own judgment.

I would like some people to stop to create perpetual opposition between "Trad path" and "by-ear-path". My God! We are not enemies, you know?
And, at the same time, would you say about Basie, Waller, Ellington, etc... that they were not musicians just because they were able to write or read Music???
Reading music does'nt pretend to be the "only-way" to be a musician. This is what certain bitter an depressive teachers pretend...you just have to pay no attention to them, that's all!

My piano teacher could do both read and play by ear, but she was more a of a singer than piano player. I wanted to play Jazz and Blues. I learned the Blues out of a lesson book but I had a passion for the music so I learned a lot of of tricks and licks on my own. I did the same with Jazz Music. You have to listen to music to play music..lol! There are pros and cons to ear playing and sight reading! Practice BOTH and you'll what my teacher called a "well rounded" musician!!

But teachers are great for total beginners just not anyone else above that... Then come back to this course once you understand how to spell chords, what intervals are... What a s
@madameve I just downloaded the update to the app and went to look at the new feature of being able to download the PDFs of the course but only saw a sample PDF of basically the same information you have in this video... Where are the Books?

Its 1000 times harder to go from Intermediate to Advanced than it is to go from Beginner to Intermediate... partly because most educational media are geared to beginners in the first place because there is more money to be made there. On top of that... Just as they point out here most really good musicians / teachers are extremely selfish and stingy and DON'T teach the good stuff... If you take lessons they aren't going to teach you how to play piano... They teach you how to play songs by telli

@disnukka79 I agree but also note that threre are teachers out there who are in the same situation in that "THEY CAN ONLY READ MUSIC...." So don't stay with them too long..... get the basics and then get rid of them.......
