Case No. 3960150.
The LCD cover (lower right) is detached and Dell says it is beyond the coverage for warranty.
Clearly defective product !!
Think of buying a Dell ? Think again !

  • @Dell0304 epoxy resin could fix it. fixed mine.

  • I have the same model. Also had this problem but I fixed it myself 2 years ago. Good as new. EPOXY resin did the trick.

  • ups sry only key boeard

  • I have thesame model nothing broken

  • I'm getting a somewhat broken 6400, and it has this same problem.

  • I have the same issue with my dell inspiron 6400

it was broken when i picked up the laptop.

  • Dell fixed this problem...and in a very timely manner. Returned on 10/01/10. It was warranty covered and the fix appears to be solid. Excellent communication throughout.

  • Exact same problem here (NC, USA) and Dell has sent me a box to send it in to the Dell Depot repair shop. I bought the extended warranty and have 180 days left on it.

I've told them that I understand about my lack of "accidental coverage" in which they replied that if the damage was from normal wear and tear it would be covered. I told them that I knew replacement was expected in the near future but wanted them to fix it if they could. Shipped to Dell 9/29/10.

  • oh ffs, just press it in.

if it detaches again, open it and see what causing the problem then fix it.

6400 is incredibly easy laptop to work on.

    i have it as well

  • I have the same issue.
