  • The public liked Flynn's charming rogue of a character, his undisguised Australian accent notwithstanding, but the critics found him to be the weak link in the production. But Errol Flynn is so hanson!!

  • I loved Bette's portrayal of Queen Elizabeth the First!

  • i think the sentiment and honesty of her performance overrides the fact that her accent is mid atlantic. in fact i hadnt noticed that as a mid atlantic accent.

it looks like she has tailored an obvious upper-class english accent in order to enhance her delivery. she is an extremely clever actor ,to be honest i think she did a great job of disguising her very distinctive voice.

  • She was talented. Question: What do you think of her Mid-Atlantic accent? Posing as an English queen...?

  • she was an actress who loved her art, and if it cost her, her looks she didnt mind . she was the greatst actress that ever lived

  • Great movie, but if I were a Queen and had to wear all that silly crap, I'd almost rather die.

  • I just don't think Bette looked flattering playing Elizabeth. Much too Hollywood.
