And may I recommend SLIGHTLY SCARLET (1955), with a stunning and underrated Rhonda Fleming (in Technicolor-widescreen) too!

This history was true during the Barbary Pirates but the market of selling white slaves was in Algiers famous market in bab ElDzira of Algiers all slaves were from europe and white americans especially skandinavins and italians spanish east europians irland and all west europian countries were sold slaves in north africa especially in the market of algiers and the italians were the most favourable slaves because they were extra obiant

This book is one one of my favorite. Yep, that's right, it was a book first! From the two videos I can tell that the screenwriters took QUITE a few liberties. And, of course, the 50's style. I would like to see the entire movie (but I think I like the book better lol).

@AnastaziaDesmond I didn't know it was a book first. I haven't read it so I can't say if the screenwriters took liberties or not, but it wouldn't surprise me. Also my edit of the footage leans heavily to Ms. Fleming's scenes which may not accurately reflect the feel of the actual movie.
