ONE OF THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL FILMS IN HISTORY FINALLY ARRIVES!

BATTLE ROYALE

Available for the first time in North America on Blu-ray™, DVD and digital download on March 20th from Anchor Bay Entertainment

BATTLE ROYALE. A title that has shocked, thrilled and unnerved audiences. A film whose fiendishly simple premise has inspired many imitations, including the upcoming The Hunger Games motion picture. Based on the 1999 global best-seller by Koushun Takami, the futuristic tale first came to the screen in 2000, directed by the legendary Kinju Fukasaku. Authors, filmmakers and film fans the world over consider the film and its 2003 sequel Battle Royale II: Requiem sacred cinematic classics. And now, fans can own them on high-definition Blu-ray™ and DVD!

On March 20th, Anchor Bay Entertainment proudly brings the Battle Royale: The Complete Collection to Blu-ray™ and DVD for the first time in North America.

42 students, Three days, One survivor -- No Escape. Welcome to the world of Battle Royale!

BATTLE ROYALE
In the near future, the economy has collapsed, unemployment has soared and juvenile crime has exploded. Fearful of their nation's youth, the Japanese government passes The BR Law: Each year, a 9th grade class is sent to a remote island where they will be locked into exploding neck collars, given a random weapon, and forced to hunt and kill each other until there is only one survivor left. Chiaki Kuriyama (Kill Bill) and screen legend Takeshi Kitano (Boiling Point, Brother) star in the movie that has been argued, acclaimed and banned around the world. More than a decade later, it remains one of the most savage, shocking and emotionally powerful films of all time. Now experience the complete Director's Cut of Kinji Fukasaku's uncompromising masterpiece -- nominated for 10 Japanese Academy Awards® -- available uncensored and unrated for the first time ever in America.

For anyone wondering the music which plays in this trailer, it is Frédéric Chopin's "Raindrop" Prelude, Op 28, No. 15

But if you think about it, communism you don't have to worry about which brand of a product to get because all there is is a government brand. So in that sense, business isnt as hostile. However it is still a very fucked up system.

But think about it. That is how business works. Some companies have an unfair advantage over others due to managing, or funding, or popularity. Similar to the students and what is the idea of business? To make the most money. The idea of the game? To survive. So yeah I admit that the author went to an extreme but he is showing "flaws" which every form of government has. Communism has the flaw of one person running the whole system. Capitalism has the flaw that some people will do anything to be

Yeah, the story is an allegory of the authors views on capitolism, and if his views on capitalism are everyone kills each other because of a business owner they don't know then he's obviously a retarded bigot

Also dumb ass An allegory is a story where everything symbolizes something else. Think 'a separate peace'. Your statement doesn't make sense. Suck on that mother fucker

1 iPod, 2 fuck computers. And just because it's an allegory to Western capitalism doesn't mean it supports communism. 1984 by George Orwell is an allegory to the darkness in a humans heart and however, it supports free thinking and knowledge. So your argument is invalid. Also congratulations you understand nationalism you fucking dumbass

It takes the side of communism because it's an allegory against western capitalism, that's exactly what I was told by an actual fan of this stuff earlier in the comments so if you think I'm retarded for saying that then the fan of this must be as well for giving me a warped explanation. You think I'm just being a stupid nationalist? Without capitalism you wouldn't even have your own precious computer to comment against me on this video.
