What If is from Eric Whitacre's musical Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings.
Each part was sung by a character in this song rather than a chorus but this version was adapted to SSATB.

It was amazing to work with Eric Whitacre. Especially since these pieces were his own creation. I have never experienced that and the feeling cannot be duplicated. He made everyone in that room think and feel things we never dreamt of feeling about music.

@relentless26 Well it was only the 2nd rehearsal out of 3 before the concert. And there are a bunch of choirs who've never worked together before. I posted this because Eric doesn't have his CD out yet and it's difficult to find a recording of this especially in the choral version.

I'm in this choir!! You show the back of me near the beginning; I'm in the blue sweater with a twisted ponytail!! This was the BEST experience of my life. I got to sing under the direction of Eric Whitacre in Carnegie Hall!!!! How many people can say that!?!? Thank you so much for posting this and bringing back memories, I was only searching for a recording of this song but instead I'm reflecting and remembering the best April of my life, Thanks again!!! :)

@supermegsavestheday I am doing the Los Angeles concert this June and we are singing Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings. Just wondering how your experience was. My whole choir is getting pretty excited. Did you guys get to sing this song, or just the principles?
