@jenniferstarsullivan you're only reading into the hype that some enviros started. Dredging is better for the enviro than highbanking, is better for the fish, and is prolly the best and most effective way of ridding the waters of lead and mercury. Sure, its not good to dredge where and when fish are spawning, and not good to severely erode the banks and vegetation, but it can be done consiously. This little dredge seen here wont impact the enviro, my shovel and pan can do more damage, literally.

Hi Jim,
Love your passion and willingness to teach others. I'm getting a pretty good show of color in the Pemi river right at lincoln woods in the first bend (make right over bridge, walk for 5 min). Wish I could set up a sluice as I'm getting a fair amount of black sands and garnet. Found a nice piece of quarts/gold/iron while clasifying gravel there also. If your ever heading up north and want some company drop a line, wife is only good for about 2 hours Tony cooljetta@verizon.net

Anyone that thinks this is ruining nature is very ignorant of facts. jenniferstarsullivan go crawl back into your leftist/communistic world and have some lsd so the world makes sense to you!

What a way to ruin nature...Use a pan is my suggestion.

have you actually found any gold in nh?

I live in nh! Did you find any gold and can anyone go to the twin rivers claim? cool vid!!!
As a matter of fact, dredging the bottom of rivers benefits the fish as it not only churns up food for them but also provides better places for them to lay eggs. But really, within one day any hole made by a dredge is filled in by the movement of material by the current. Don't criticize without knowing the facts!

There is a ton of gold in NH! You need get permission to prospect on pretty much any land in NH except for the White Mt Nat Forest. But there you can only pan, no sluicing or dredging. To use the Twin River spots you need to go there and get permission, they are very nice! Check out our 2011 BIG DIG III this July. Just Google "BIG DIG III dates set" for info.
