What a beautiful kit. Shame it didn't suit you. How much did it go for?

You got a great taste, this drum kit is what everybody would love to play, and thoe Avedis new beat hi-hats sound really good

Thanks! They're nice drums, they've definately got "the sound".
The drums are miced with two small-diaphragm condenser microphones in a XY -configuration and they're located next to the camera. So about 2 meters from the drumset.

Hey that's a sick set ! I think Gretsch is excellent. How did you record this ? are your drums miked ? I can't tell.

Why don't you own them anymore?

I was never happy with how they felt when I played them. With some drumsets you just don't "click", I never played as good with these Gretschs or my DWs as I play with my other drumsets.
The bassdrum was also oversized so it was difficult to get heads to seat properly.
I've played other vintage Gretsch sets that have had better feel, to me at least. I'll get one in the future.
These drums sounded great thou and looked amazing.
