@mrdunnwpbch I'd love to agree with you, but you can't compare a medium grand, or even a baby grand with a digital... Digital piano's just don't transmit that "emotion" you get from acoustic pianos.
-
Whats wrong with digital pianos? They sound and feel better then most grands!
-
I'm supposedly going to play this for my diploma. That third section will require some work I think.
-
Hey ..... they complain about the digital piano .... I squeeze this out on a 98 year old pipe organ !!! WELL DONE !!! BRAVO !!!
-
Bravo! Best version on youtue... such a shame its on a digital piano... couldnt you like go to a music auditorioum and re post this?

if i remember what i read at one point, Joplin was invited to play at the fair by the entertainment committee, and commissioned to write The Cascades. The Sousa band was there and played it!
-
not a problem, i play Cascades at a tempo of about 90. the C section is defenately one of the more challenging things Joplin ever wrote. but when you get it right it has a tremendous effect!
-
i can play this song!
i would place it on youtube, if my darn camera wasn't broken!
anyway, good job man!
keep it cleaner, The Cascades is suppose sound like water, because it was written for the "Cascade Gardens" at the St Louis world fair in 1904. it was a spectacular series of waterfalls with colored lights and Joplin was comissioned to write this rag for the gardens which Sousa's band played at the fair in front of the waterfalls with the colors changing. what a sight!
