  • For those of you who commented about the person staring, I have removed your comments because that is my mother :)

  • We just heard that iBot will be discontinuing their sales and production, and will only service existing machines until 2010; apparently the supply and demand (and cost) wasn't warranting production.

  • @AccessAnything Ohh I'm sorry, I didn't know that... it's just that my dad has MS and is in a wheelchair and gets A LOT of stares, so I'm a little sensitive about the issue. Again, my apologies.

  • where did you get that kind of wheelchair?...i like it! mine is just too old now :(.

  • nice just add like shocks and suspension system ull be fine =]

  • actualy if all stairs had 2hand rails like this then I wouldnt mind!, but yes if thats the only access then it does suck , especially for the elderly or electric chairs

These chairs can cost several thousand bucks

  • I've tried this as a subway in Calgary that has 30 or 40 steps. After venturing it twice, all the bolts in my chair (TiLite) needed tightening.

  • Looks like it would be hard on the equipment--and a chair like that sure isnt cheap.

  • what is the front angle degree on your chair?

  • If they could build IBOT wheelchair they could also build chairs that easily climb stairs using their balancing technology, they can even hold a man upright using the same technology, but they don't want to lose the healthcare/mobility equipment business.

No cure, no progress = more money from Medicare
