Also, that guy is NOT Lewis Lymon of Lewis Lymon & The Teenchords fame (Frankie Lymon's younger brother). I wish people would stop peddling bullshit like this and be honest about being a tribute band. If you call it a Tribute Group, then fine..if you don't then you're a dirty thief.

I saw them last May ..two of the groupos were brilliant and the other group though singing well did not have the same enthusiasm..may have been the Drifters. Did any have an original member?

Can't name names but I believe one of the Platters, the gentleman who played the piano as his specialty act, was with the Platters years ago.

The night we saw them all were great.

Thats Louis Lyman the brother of Frankie. Doo wop royalty. I did the gig on guitar for 2 years on this show. One of the more real music shows in vegas. No smoke no laser lights or tracks these are are hard working showmen from another time. Dont miss it.

Blame the SAHARA Hotel Entertainment folks for billboarding them all as PLATTERS COASTERS & DRIFTERS.

It's the venues who sell out. Most guys in any of these groups are content with performing a tribute show. No "real" group would have had that long of a run at the Sahara (what's it been, about 10 years now?) Big names come and go, then return. Even Branson, Missouri changes up their star lineup. This show has run 6 or 7 nights a week forever. Who doesn't "get" that, when they attend a show?

I saw this show at the Sahara 2 times a few years ago. The show is still playing there. The Platters and the Coasters were great. The Drifters were OK. It was a good show even if only one of the original group sang.

This is not a real show if these members are claiming to be someone who they are not. Where are the Original members who are still performing? They say Cornell Gunthers Coasters he is dead and The original COasters are still performing as is The marvelettes fake show

His name is Derrick David. He was with Tony Williams Platters after Tony left the original group and formeed his own group. He was performing with them when Tony died. At that time, he took over as lead singer. This group has been licensed by Jean Bennett to use the name. She was the business partner of Buck Ram. OBTW, that IS Lewis Lymon.
