Me vs Mamizou Futatsuiwa (TD Extra Boss)

Mamizou Futatsuiwa (what a ridiculously contrived name) is the Ex-boss of the game Ten Desires, the 13th installment of the Touhou Project. The Touhou Project is a series of bullet hell where unknown girls of undefined appearance battle mysterious shrine maidens, enigmatic witches, and otherworldly swordswomen in a clash of strange bullets that create mystic patterns. Queer. The creator of this puzzling creations is an odd individual known only by the ominous pseudonym of ZUN

So... a raccoon... the big bad Exboss is a freaking tanuki. Is official, ZUN did the same mushrooms that made Miyamoto do Super Mario Bros 3. Similar to Nue, Mamizou ability is the power to change objects shape. As a matter of fact, apparently Mamizou is a friend of Nue who came from outside Gensokyo to help her in one way or another. Is very hard to get clear imageson the situation when all you see are runes.

Anyways, her character design is odd for a extra boss. The extra boss normally are childish looking youkai with a dose of creepiness and/or quirkiness for good matter ( Flandre, Nue, Koishi, Suika, and Suwako) or mature ones with seven levels on badass (the heroines, Ran, Yukari, and Mokou). However, Mamizou isn't really any. Her design makes her look like an antiquated old timer, who enjoys sitting in a chair in front of her wooden house playing the banjo or some other cliché stuff. This is probably due to her glasses and general color scheme though. Actually, she looks kind of like a senile old man, given how she has one eye closed, wears a leave for a hat, has messy hair, and... maybe it's just me or the art style, but her glasses look crooked.

I don't think her character is going to pick up much steam given she's basically a brunette, nature themed Nue. But I could be wrong. She's definitely not dethroning either Suika or Yuugi in the drunkard department. I cannot read her dialogue, but if I have to guess her fanmade personality will be that of the genki girl to a mischievous, calculating, calm Nue.

Mamizou fight is pretty tough actually, unlike the rest of the game. She introduce what I'll call the animal danmaku. If you though Nue's UFO where a pain, Mamizou's animals will make you crawl in a corner and weep for merciful relieve from your suffering. They can basically be put like this:
-The Gingerbread army throws pellets at you
-The hounds try to do Take Down on you
-The birds try ram into you
-The frogs explode (typical)

Unlike the UFO's, they cannot be destroyed. Their hitbox is hard to judge due to their irregular shape and they come many at a time. Luckily, a bomb will wipe them out of existence... until Mamizou summons more. Yay. This makes her fight pretty infuriating. And the life system in Ten Desires doesn't help.

How hard is she compared to other Extra bosses?

Annoying at first, but with times get more manageable. I would say middle tier (whatever that means in this context)

Really now, her last spell could easily pass as a stage 6 boss easy mode spell.

I'd be interested to see you attempt to capture Nue's second Ex-Spell, "Skyfish of Unknown Shape" the epic way. I've been trying it for a little while now, and it's exciting. Basically, you have to use Reimu and position yourself anywhere above Nue between the end of her first spell and the start of her second one. Now, let your homing amulets deal all of the damage to Nue while you stick to the top portion of the screen and dodge the arrow danmaku like crazy in no-focus mode. Good luck! :D
