I've heard stories about that W7T 1.8 messes up computers but i have no idea why it worked on the mine. you could also try the activator for the RC and the n you will activate but only the expiration thing will stay(not that it's active) and later you can remove that with the Toolkit.

I tried another on this version and it messed up a lot of stuff so I had to re-install. Does Windows 7 Toolkit 1.8 work on this version?

there are several options to do that one that i used is Windows 7 Toolkit 1.8 and it did wonders for me.

is that different to the rtm in anyway and did u buy the retail or accuire it XD

it is the same version that u see on the market but i got it through Microsoft TechNet
(windows 7 ultimate)
