I love how the 'welcome to the flight' announcement by the stewardess happened before you had even cleared terminal 5!

Is there someone seriously boarding that plane barefooted in bermuda shorts?? In winter?! In a BA flight??
You would expect that on easy jet.

Snow thunderstorms don't happen in the UK.
Is it useful taking a flight from London to Amsterdam? I don't know if its easier taking the Eurostar to Brussels and afterwards the Thalys. 4 hours by train versus time to airport + 2 hours in the airport + 1 hour flight (from boarding to landing) + time to the city...

@Rubricatus Each such BA flight from LHR to "nearby" Europe (e.g. Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris) has a substantial percentage of non-EC passengers coming in from other continents. They need to be interviewed by UK Border, pick up their luggage, & take the Tube to Waterloo Station in order to catch the Eurostar. Their needs are different from those of travellers commencing their trips in the London area ... I have UK friends who even love the "romance" of Harwich-Hoek of Holland sailing, too .... :)
